This is a series of drone photos that I captured showing the lake freezing up and then partially thawing. The location is just west of Sioux Narrows, which is the deepest part of Lake of the Woods and always one of the last places to freeze. The first photos are from December 18th, when there was still open water. The next photos are from the following day, December 19th after it froze over. Then come a few photos from December 27, after a warm spell of above freezing temperatures. There is black ice under all of that water!
